I don't really like talking about myself.
Still I guess that's what these pages are for. So here's a bunch of random facts about me:
I hate the word "content" and the phrase "content creators." It sounds like you're making a product rather than creating something for yourself. Chances are, most people using the term are. Even if we're dicking around on the Internet I feel like we should take some pride in what we do, because it does matter to someone, even if it's just us. My greatest heartbreak was when I heard Oldphan say that she might do some "other figure content," which killed any impression I had of her having whimsy.
"What do you label it then?" I dunno. I make videos. I sometimes draw art like Hipster Wario. If I feel like being up my own ass, I'll talk about my Pokemon videos as "documentaries." I think anything that specifies what you do and addresses the value of it is better than generic "content."
I listen to Mario Paint remixes of music in [current year]. I doubt I'll stop. Even if it doesn't ever sound the same as the original, I appreciate the creativity of working within intentionally set limits. Plus the really good creators in the space make stuff that sounds really good regardless. I still have Through the Fire and the Flames on my set list for parties. No one invites me to them anymore.
I used to hold the world record speedrun for Uno DX on the GBC. During my tenure of getting and recapturing the world record, I cut the main time down from about 3 minutes to 45 seconds. Other people have since broken the record and I never regained it because I got bored and moved on to other stuff.
Here's a 3x3 of anime:
Yes, I know what the creator of Rurouni Kenshin did. I don't like it and I'm not watching the remake. I'm not asking you to like it. And no, Pokemon isn't on there because I don't need the negativity that would bring into my life. Zoids is uncontroversial though; I doubt anyone will second guess that. I don't build model kits.
I haven't made a 3x3 of video games and I don't think I will at any point. It'd be tough narrowing down to nine. Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time. Trails/Kiseki is my favorite series, though it remains to be seen how it'll end and if it'll move away from the light novel bullshit. I can kick your ass in Tetris. You don't think that's impressive or anything worth bragging about, but that's just because you're a cowardly human whose soul has been weighed down by Earth's gravity.
I started making videos in the mid-2000s, right when YouTube was getting big. I used Windows Movie Maker for a few years, but I was better at it than most because I took a class in high school about multimedia production. It wasn't great, but it was a good introduction. My main memory of that class is when I asked the girl next to me out and she said no.
I don't do drugs aside from caffeine. I don't think anyone cares, but I have to uphold the stereotype of being insufferable about it. I'm not a vegan though. That's too far.
I want to make a video about Advanced Generation, but I don't know how. The problem with Pokemon, especially the anime side of things, is that there's a lot of information and interest for the franchise up to 2000, and practically none thereafter until 2016 and Pokemon GO. So what can I actually make a video about in that case? I'll figure it out at some point. I always bounce between video ideas anyway.
My favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut. This is the part where you're supposed to think "oh yeah, I can see his influence in your writing," and not "ugh, another litbro who can't get passed Vonnegut."
