An archive for Internet anime parodies

This was a project I started during COVID. You may be aware of TeamFourStar of Dragon Ball Z Abridged fame, or a few others who have become professional creators over the years, but underneath them was a huge community of amateur video makers doing the same thing. Back when I was a baby video maker on the Internet, I started out making abridged series. Over the years, I became more and more involved in the community, including moderating a now-defunct forum that was the hub for the non-TeamFourStar level people. Even if I hate most of the videos I made back then, being part of this community of creators helped me develop skills I use now. Not to mention, it has put me in contact with tons of people I wouldn't have met otherwise.

So in 2020 or so, I started compiling as many abridged series as I could to preserve. There was a previous archive, but it was incredibly lacking, hadn't been updated in years, and the guy who created it was a Covid-denier. Given the fraught copyright landscape of YouTube (especially when it comes to transformative media like parodies), at any given point entire channels of old creators could go down instantly. Over the course of several months, I put together this archive, mostly focusing on "dead" abridged channels, especially those from the late-2000s and early 2010s. The previous archive started with about 150 folders; the current incarnation has 1272 (not counting ones that have been removed by request of the original creator).

The folders below have been ordered alphabetically by the name of the creator's channel. Usually I used the original channel name, since many abridgers made secondary channels for group projects. Sometimes, I put all of them under one folder in the cases of backup channels or the like. There are tons that I know existed but do not have, and unfortunately I ran out of leads for a lot of these things years ago.
